No Peppermint?

Is peppermint really bad for breast milk production? I've heard this a couple times now, but I do so love my mint tea. I've been staying away from it,k but I've never had any supply issues FYI. Is all mint bad or just peppermint?

Anyone know?

I don't know about other kinds of mint (I'll be interested to hear info on this), but if you've had no other supply problems and your little one is now 18 months (or 8 months...depending on which way you wrote his birth date!), then I doubt that one cup of mint tea would make much difference. Even if you did notice a difference, it's highly unlikely that it would make a permanent impact that a day or two of unrestricted nursing wouldn't fix.

I've never heard this and I drank peppermint tea every day for a while when DS was about 2 months old. No supply issues.

From what I understand you'd have to be drinking a significant amount of tea, I think. Or like, taking oil or something. I use a drop of oil on my forehead for migraines. And really, a little mint goes a long way for flavoring so I don't think your tea would be affecting it so drastically that I'd cut it out.
