Share your cheap meals here! - Page 2

Just wanted to mention HillbillyHousewife.com for lots of super cheap recipes - I use it all the time. Some of my faves from there are

Lentil Soup with Dumplings - so cheap, so delicious! I've made the dumplings with spelt flour for my DH with wheat sensitivities, and it worked great! Plus it smells soooo good cooking!

Hot Rice Cereal

Buckwheat Pancake Mix

Nearly Instant Biscuits

I'm also a fan of Frugal Abundance, which is the GFCF versin of Hillbilly Housewife. Some faves from there include:

Curried Lentils

Fried Tofu Nuggets

Our dinner tonight was a $1 bag of frozen stir fry veggies and a half a pound of spaghetti (50 cents). Seasoned with soy sauce, it fed the whole family.

Sautee onion and garlic in butter/oil. When onion is starting to become translucent (3min), add cabbage, stir for 2 min. Add cubed potatoes, broth and meat. Cover and let simmer on med-high heat for 10-15 minutes. Stir every 5 minutes or so, and when potatoes are done, food is ready!

Delicious, cheap, healthy AND fast.
Yum! We'll try this one. I've discovered my non-veggie eater will eat them better in dishes like this one.
