Musty smelling covers

I have a few covers that I just CAN NOT get the musty smell out of....a bum genius pocket and a flip cover. I managed to get the musty smell out of my cotton prefolds by using some baking soda...they smell fine now. I was also able to get the smell out of my bummis covers. Any suggestions on how to "strip" covers?? Oh, I just remembered...I also have some microfibre inserts that I can't get the smell out of...

I have no idea what caused the musty smell to begin with. I do a cold rinse, hot wash and 2 cold rinses and dry. I use Nature Clean detergent. Is there a better one?

I would try putting them out in the sun if you can. Or try Bac-Out in the first cold rinse. I'm not sure about Nature Clean--never heard of it, but if it's free of enzymes, optical brighters, softeners, fragrance and dye, than it's a good one! I just switched to Country Save and so far I like it (it's only been a day though). Good luck!
