Why, in the name of god, would he have to cut her when the baby was coming just fine on its own?

Because, he had to do SOMETHING in order to collect his overly high birth fee! They aren't happy unless they are dissecting someone. My thoughts exactly, btw.

Wow. I'm so glad he came down in the end, before surgery. That's ridiculous he had to "snip" her.

I'm confused, the nurse got the cath in so urine out and then the baby moved so the bladder must have been blocking...

but at no point during the labor she ever thought about peeing? No one ever suggested it? I was peeing all the time. The midwife was all 'make sure you keep emptying your bladder if you can!'

The snipping is crazy too. It is like he needed to do something to prove he was in charge.

Maybe it's just me but I didn't find the story funny at all. In fact, it really ticked me off. The attitude of the staff and the unnecessary interventions (that "snip"...UGH!!!!) were great examples of what is so wrong w/ the current medical model.
