We've been homeschooling for the all the grades (k-8) and are starting high school homeschool in the fall. I really want my ds to have a transcript for college apps and Clonlara has been reccomended. It's pricey and I'm looking for fedback before we commit. Has anyone done anything else successfully?

We're braving high school on our own and making our own transcript. I like the yahoo groups hs2coll and homeschool2college for advice and examples of transcripts and preparing for college.

I was hsed with Clonlara as a high schooler. I don't have anything bad to say. You just track your hours-you can be as creative with that as you want and then take an exit exam. They then send you a diploma.

I made transcripts using this http://www.amazon.com/Homeschoolers-...0&sr=8-1-fkmr0 as a guide. It's got loads of information and ideas and even templates for organizing information. It was pretty easy to do.

Also, my dd started community college at 15 without a high school transcript (she was technically a freshman in highschool at the time.) So, you might want to look at local options. I know one CC here has a program where a student can obtain a HS diploma and an Associate's Degree simultaneously. I have several friends whose kids sat for the GED exam as an option as well.
