4 even if you go by the lunar 4 week months you still wouldn't be quite 5 months so your 4 months + depending on when your lmp was eg if your lmp 1st feb you'd be 4mths and 11 days hth

I just count by LMP. So my LMP was February 13, so on June 13 I will be 4 months, and I am 17 weeks today. So on July 13 I'll be 5 months, and about 21 weeks. It's not exact, but it's how I keep track

You're IN your fifth month, that's why I gets confusing. Like a 2 month old baby is IN it's first year. So if you were looking it up in a book or a website or whatever, week 19 is going to be in the fifth month chapter. But I'd call that 4 1/2 months.
I'm having a hard enough time remembering how many weeks I am. Luckily my friend is 6 weeks ahead of me, so I keep asking her.

Yeah, the "in the 5th month" versus "completed 5 months" gets royally confusing.

FWIW, an actual calendar month is, on average 4.3 weeks. So...

4.3 weeks = 1 month
8.6 weeks = 2 months
13 weeks = 3 months
17.3 weeks = 4 months
21.6 weeks = 5 months
26 weeks = 6 months
30.3 weeks = 7 months
34.6 weeks = 8 months
39 weeks = 9 months

So, at 19 weeks, I'd say I was 4.5 months along.

But there are probably half a dozen or more ways to look at dating.

It definitely gets confusing -- lately I've been telling people I'm 16 weeks, and they say "Oh wow! Four months already!"

Well, not quite. People think of gestation as being "9 months" but it's really 40 weeks (well...40 weeks from LMP...so those first two weeks you're not *actually* pregnant), which most people would translate as ten months. So I usually tell folks how many weeks I am, and if they look confused or I see them trying to calculate how many months that is, I say "Out of about 40. So in four weeks I'll be about halfway."

Anyway, I try to just not even think in terms of months. It gets too confusing.

I am also 19 weeks and I say I am 4 months pregnant.

I change months on the anniversary of my due date based on how much time is left in a 9 month pregnancy. (I have 5 months to go so I am 4 months pregnant).


So I am due 11/6. On July 6th I will start saying I am 5 months (b/c I have 4 months to go) and on August 6th I will say I am 6 months (b/c I have 3 months to go) etc.

It just makes more sense to me...
