Has anyone used History Pockets?

What did you think of them?
Are they worthwhile or did you find that they were more of a lapbooking type of thing you could do yourself?

We've used (and are still using, only about 1/2 finished) the Ancients pockets.

Sure, you could put together something similar yourself, like any lapbook. But we really like them. They're not too expensive and for me they're worth the time saved vs. me trying to do it all myself.

We are using the American History one (not sure it's exact name) but it covers Colonial Times and Revolutionary War. I don't use it as much as they recommend with his AS1 curriculum but I like having it to expand on some things that we are learning. My DS(7) has enjoyed the activities we have done out of it, and he is not one for busywork.

We're are in the midst of the Native American one (for ds age 5 but could work well through about 8). It gives all the major info without a lot of insignificant details to confuse matters. Ds is really retaining the information and loves the projects. It would take me a lot of time to find little craft ideas like that, but this is all ready to go. I would easily pay double for the convenience and quality! Two thumbs up from us!

ETA: My ds loves cutting, gluing, and crafty stuff. If your dc doesn't enjoy those things, History Pockets might not be such a great fit.

We have the Civil War one and really like it as well. I think they are great to have around. Makes learning fun.
