My LO will be born in late october, and we have to travel for 2 weddings in Dec. At the first, we will be staying with my parents, and at the second we will be in a hotel for 2 or 3 nights. How do you safely cosleep with such a young baby while you are travelling? (esp. in a hotel, as i think we can just be on an air mattress on the floor at my parents', maybe with a borrowed moses basket next to the bed). Thanks!

At that age, at least your LO will not be mobile.
You could get a portable travel bed like these:
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...ductId=3190423
or even cheaper at Target (and it got great user reviews):

Otherwise, hotels have cribs, so you could do that for a couple of nights if you don't mind.

At 2 months I spent several nights in a hotel with ds & then at 3 months we visited my Mom & my in-laws for a total of 2 weeks. In all the rooms I just had him beside me just like I did at home - nothing special. In the single bed was the worst though - I barely slept I was so worried about the edge - don't think I'd recommend that.

I would not sleep with baby on an air mattress, as baby will roll into you, which is dangerous. I'm sure there are threads about it. I even started one a year ago, wondering the same thing.
As far as a regular bed, the in-laws live 2 hours away, and we visited a bunch for weekends when DS was tiny. We didn't do anything special. The bed we sleep in at their house is a full, so it was tight, but we kept DS in the middle. (Once, the a/c wasn't on or something, and it was so sweltering in the bedroom that DH actually moved to the living room & slept on teh recliner where there was a window a/c unit, and DS & I melted in the bedroom. Plenty of room, though!) Now, we have a bed rail, and when we travel we take it with us, so that we can use it. We were in a hotel for Memorial Day, and the mattress was too thick for the bed rail to do any good, fyi.

We travelled when DD was 3 months for a wedding. By far the easiest trip with her, because she couldn't move yet! We're not small people but we all slept in a double bed without issues. I've tried air mattresses too, and that doesn't work at all for us. I'll sleep on a blanket on the floor instead. My DD won't accept being transferred to a moses basket or crib easily, and the air mattress made her roll into me, which was scary and made proper latch impossible.
If I can push the bed into the wall, it works really well, because I can switch off between sides (DD between me & the wall, DD between me and DP. If I can't, DD goes in the middle and I make DP switch sides with me in the middle of the night.
Now, with DD over 2yo, and DP pregnant, we need a queen to make room for us all and that's getting tight, but for the first couple of years, we just shared a bed where ever we went.

Traveling at that age is so easy as far as sleeping arrangements. Back when we only had one, we would do me, DD1, and DH in an bed in that order if it was a queen or king. In a smaller bed in a hotel than we'd get two beds and DH would be one, and I'd be on the other with the baby. Now we are to the point where when we travel we have to have 2 bedrooms for everyone, it makes arranging travel a PIA.

A 2mo should be easy! My DD was still in the "fall asleep anywhere, anytime" phase then which makes life pretty easy going.
I agree that I wouldn't sleep on an air mattress though. I think your idea of a moses basket next to the bed would be fine (if she still fits!) but I definitely wouldn't have a two month old on an air mattress. I did cosleep with my DD at 11mo on an air mattress while camping, but she could walk by then and was strong enough to roll around and lift her head so she wasn't getting stuck in the mattress. But even then I worried.

I wouldn't bedshare on an air mattress with an infant, either. Otherwise, I don't do anything special. If you're concerned about rails, these travel great and are inexpensive:

Doesn't hinge on mattress size/type, either.
