Swimming in very COLD water?

I forgot to ask my MW the other day....We are going camping at a lake for few days next week ( I will be 36 weeks if that matters). The water is really cold (it's snow run-off) and I don't usually even go in past my knees but I thought swimming might sound really good. I know that it's good to be careful about water being too hot but is it ok if it's really cold? Thanks!

I try not to do anything that makes me uncomfortable... like we went to lake michigan this week but it was SO cold I could barely get my feet in...

I suppose if you aren't submitting yourself to hypothermia baby will likely be fine, but I will tell you when pregnant that cold water is so much less tolerable! While I agree that swimming sounds great (I have SPD and am now on bedrest... floating in a pool sounds like heaven) as soon as I touched that water I knew it would be far from comfortable.

So glad you asked this! I want to head up to the springs in North Florida in the next week or so.
