Im almost 8wks pregnant with #3, I had two csections in 04' & 06'. Im currently on the search for a provider in our area who will allow a VBA2C. I'm in contact with my local ICAN group & have a few names to contact and interview to be my OB this time around.

Looking forward to being a member of this group of VBAC women

well, one more bump in the road... i called an ob who is noted for taking VBAC's and they dont take insurance transfers. GRRR!!! I planned on talkign to my current ob but this would have been a much easier way of making things work. WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT TO LET A WOMAN BIRTH THEIR BABY! ... especially based on a fraction of a possibility there could be a rupture?

glad i climbed over that road bump.. I found another provider (45min away but oh well) who is willing to do a VBA2C in a hospital setting and I agreed to a c-sec in the event either of us are in distress (True distress not just tired of laboring) they require a VBAC info/liability class which is done monthly (by the ob) which i will happily attend. I get to call them back tomorrow to schedule my first appointment with them

That's great! I just had a VBA2C in November in a hospital and it was wonderful!
Make sure you ask about the monitoring and if they have the ones you can walk around with, telemetry, I think they are called? I used that almost the whole time and being able to move around was the key to my success!
I like the class idea, it shows they are serious about it and not just giving you the line and then backing out at the last minute.
Good luck!

I hope you get the VBA2C you desire!

I had a beautiful VBA2C last June, in a hospital with a great OB. It was a more hands off birth than my previous 2 vaginal births or the subsequent 2 c-sections. I am thankful and appreciative of his support and encouragement that allowed me the chance to reclaim my body!

I'm pregnant again, and due in August, and this time we're planning a homebirth with a great MW at home. It was a hard decision, as I really liked the OB..I just wanted less intervention and my own environment..and to not be an hour away. If that's what's needed though, then it's worth it!

well, with the encouragement of my local ICAN group... i called my first choice ob again asking why they wont take an insurance transfer, threw a couple names around that are big in her office and GOT ACCEPTED!!! The OB agreed to take my case on, I meet with her for my first appointment and consult on July 2cnd, I'm SOOO excited!! In the event of distress, she will be the one doing the surgery too. Best news of all, its in a hospital not too far from my home GREAT DAY GREAT DAY GREAT DAY! Couldnt have done it without the ICAN girls
