Couple of side-car logistics questions

Mods- not sure if this is better here or in family safety...

We have our crib side carred to the bed currently. I have put a pool noodle between the mattress and crib rails.

Is the little tiny dip between the mattress and noodle okay? I'm assuming it is, because I'm not sure it's possible to avoid it.

What do I do about the height difference between the crib and bed? I've heard talk of foam under the crib mattress. Where would I get said foam?

I'm considering angling her mattress a bit because of reflux. Does that present any problems that I'm not thinking of? It means that part of the mattress will probably be a touch higher than my mattress and part a touch lower.

I'm trying to go ahead and take care of this soon, before she rolls over.

Thanks!

Our co-sleeper had adjustable legs to keep the two mattresses flush.

As for foam, I think you can get it at mattress stores.

I think the dip should be fine, and so should angling.

ETA: Actually, our co-sleeper had the mattress a few inches lower than it's own wooden edge, so if DS were to roll onto it from our bed, he'd drop a couple inches, and he could not roll out. This is how the manufacturer designed it. So, I think it should be OK for your crib to be slightly lower than your bed.

I purchased my foam at our local craft store, I've also heard of using books or bed risers under the legs of the crib to give it a lift. or a folded adult blanket/ comforter under the crib mattress to raise it up.

when my 3rd ds was little I took a folded baby quilt under the head end of his crib mattres ( side-carred) to raise him a little for reflux and it seemed fine for us.

As for where the pool noodle and mattress meet and there's a dip...I think I know what you're talking about and I think it should be ok as long as there isn't a space where baby can become entraped or so much of a dip that it forces the baby to roll or get stuck into a position he can't get out of.

If you haven't already seen this, i have photos and tips of my set up and how some other families have put together their set ups here
