Heat rash

It is terribly warm and sticky where we are right now, and both my kids developed quite a nasty heat rash around their necks, and on the arms. I tried bathing them in baking soda, but the rash is still there. They are both sweating like crazy and no matter how often I bathe them, the sweat is back within minutes and the heat rash is not getting better.

How do you all treat heat rash?

Northern Essence Diaper Rash Salve. It's the first item on this page: http://www.northernessence.com/catalog.php?category=64 Both the regular and the sensitive smell really really good. My newborn got a nasty combo of baby acne and heat rash & applying the salve to her face, neck, and chest cleared it up almost completely w/ in two days. I put some on her cheeks and chin after a bath as a preventative.

When my DS gets heat rash the rash disappears as soon as I get him cooled down again ie within minutes of being back in the house in the A/C the rash goes away. Are you sure it is heat rash? My DS's rash looks like hives or bug bites.
