Hi December mamas! H. is 7 1/2 months actual, 6 months adjusted. Here's his new stuff:
Teeth: he has two bottom teeth now (the second popped through a day after the first) - teething doesn't seem to bother him, but he really enjoys gnawing on whatever he can get his hands on, including our fingers. And those teeth are sharp, yikes.
Sitting/crawling/standing: he rolls all over the room now. He can sit up by himself, but he's not very interested in it. "Why sit when you could be standing" seems to be his motto! If you put him next to a piece of furniture, he'll take steps alongside it - I'm really hoping his proto-crawling behaviors (he'll get one foot under himself and push off) turn into classic crawling, and he doesn't try to go straight to unsteady walking! (Yes, I am guilty of holding him in "crawling position". I know, I know!)
Verbal stuff: he's in the shrieking phase. He is unpleasantly loud, but looks so proud of himself, it's hard not to accidentally reinforce the SCREAM!!!!! by laughing. Also, we're pretty sure he's started to recognize the sign for "milk"/nursing.
Solids: BLW, which means that he'll thoughtfully suck on a steamed green bean or whatever, but doesn't actually ever ingest anything at this point. He really enjoys getting a teaspoon of water in a cup, though.
Is anyone's baby really eating much in the way of solid food yet, or is it still all tasting?
