BF Success! Finally!

I want to post something on the BF forums too, but I wanted to share with you ladies, since I am just feeling so happy and so proud!

DD and I have now been Exclusively BF for One Whole Week.

She is nearly 15 weeks old now. She latched on for the first time at 8 weeks and since then I have been trying to get it to work after pumping and bottle feeding and the challenges with that - nipple confusion, and a HUGE supply (pumping 40oz a day), flat nipples, as well as some outside sources of stress (moving and my grandma passing)

I am just so thrilled, as I think I was getting closer to breaking point with the pumping. I pumped every 3 hours day and night for 8 weeks because I was terrified to lose my supply. Then every 4 -5 hours for another 5 weeks.
Breastfeeding is SOOOO much easier.
I'm SO happy!!! I always dreamed of breastfeeding a toddler and really thought I was meant to breastfeed, the heartbreak of not being able to nurse this baby was nearing unbearable.

Thanks for sharing in my success

Congratulations!

This gives me hope. I've been struggling with breastfeeding my tongue tied DS (who was clipped at 5.5 weeks). We're at 10.5 weeks and still haven't been able to get things right. He's still EBF, but at this point it's only because he won't take a bottle (I've gotten frustrated enough to quit lately).

I'm trying so hard to push through to 4 months in hopes that it'll improve between 3-4 months, as people have told me it may. I'm so happy to hear that things got better for you in that time period!!

give your self a HUGE pat on the back for sticking it out.
Many would have caved way sooner.

Congrats! So sorry to hear it was such a struggle! Nursing is especially nice when it's going well.

Hooray!! We had issues until about 5 weeks, I'm really impressed you hung on as long as you did. It's *totally* worth it! So happy for you, I know how hard it is to pump all the time...
