29/30 day cycle gals

When TTC#1 I was temping, but besides temping a couple months ago to make sure that everything looked in working order I haven't been temping.

So last night DH and I had a long talk about moving up our TTC for #2, which led to bd last night as well! I've been using FF to do basic charting and my past 6 cycles have been 29-30 days long. Given that vague information when would you start BD'ing? I'm on CD11 and had creamy CM yesterday, but typically have EWCM around O, so does that mean last night was a long shot (so to speak!)?

depends. im not completely clear on how you are charting- are you saying you track cm but not temps? you said ew around o- what day do you o on? i guess the short answer is 3-4 days before o thru 1 day after. or some would say anytime you have ew or watery cm, although that can get confounded a bit if you bd a lot or use something like pre-seed. some like the sperm meets egg plan which is something like every other day from cd8 till you have a +opk, every day for 3 days, 1 day off, and one more day, then whenever you feel like it after that, or every other day till af if you dont ever have a +opk or dont check them. it's hard to say based on the overall length of the cycle, because one person with a 29 day cycle might o on day 14, someone else might o on day 18 etc, ykwim?

I dont' know--that's how long my cycle is but I o late with a shorter LP. When did you O when you were charting before?

Thanks! Right now I haven't been temping, just checking CM and keeping track of when AF starts and such. When I last temped I O'd on CD18, but that was just a random month. I did it just to make sure I was still indeed having temp shifts. So basically 3-4 days before I would typically expect to O? I know it's hard b/c you don't really know when you O until after it happens and that's the part that confuses me. Not that DH would be complaining about extra tries or anything!

My cycles are about that long, I O at around CD17 or 18 with a 12 day LP. If you had a 14 day LP you could be ovulating around CD 16, so I would BD from CD13 through CD19 or 20 to cover al bases. We BD every other night so it's not too bad on DH
