First tooth

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post about teething, but I can't find a forum that deals explicitly with teething issues. If this is the wrong forum, please direct me to the correct one.

My 7 1/2 month old just cut his first tooth. It's his upper right tooth. And it looks like his upper left tooth is about to cut through as well. I've read that the bottom teeth usually break through first. I'm wondering what everyone's experiences regarding which tooth came in first.

Thanks!

My DS got his two bottom teeth in first, but the top teeth were really close behind. I think they came in about two weeks later. Once he got both the top and bottom teeth in, I nicknamed him piranha. I didn't realize how sharp they would be...ouch!

Thanks for your reply. Everyone that I have asked said that her baby's first tooth was the bottom tooth. I'm a first-time mom, so I'm worried over everything. I see no signs of the bottom teeth coming in anytime soon.

My dd is 9 months next week and she has one tooth, bottom right. One of my lll friends has a daughter the same age-3 days difference and she has 6 (!) teeth, four bottom, two top. I don't think it really matters, as long as they all come in.

DS cut his first tooth, the bottom left, about a week or so ago. The one that looks like it is next is the one to the left of that, but we will see what actually comes through.

as long as they all come in, I don't think it matters in which order they appear.

My kids both cut bottom teeth first, but I have known babies that cut others first. One friends baby did her incisors (the fang teeth) first it made for some funny baby pictures!

my first got her first tooth at 7 months, bottom first. my second is now 9 months, and we're still waiting!

dd got her upper teeth first, but the bottom were out just days later. she will be 7 in Sept, and has perfectly healthy teeth--two are now missing, 1 bottom, 1 top. (they are 'supposed" to loose the bottom teeth first also)

My doctor told me at DS's 2- and 4-month well baby visit that his top tooth would be coming through soon. I asked him if it was usual for the top teeth to come in first, and he said it was unusual but not unheard of--different babies get their teeth at different times in different orders. Just today I noticed a tooth starting to poke through the gums. It is on the bottom. But I can kind of feel the top teeth against the gums too.

Our DD got her two bottom teeth in within days of each other at 6 months.
At 7 months old she got all four top front teeth all popped in within 6 or 7 days.
Then at 10 months she got her next bottom right tooth.
