I couldn't answer the poll.

I tell different people at different times. My parents find out right away because I see them all the time and I'm so very sick. They always help me survive the early months.

Everyone else finds out after I'm feeling better (sometimes after 12-16 weeks) or whenever I see them/ feel like telling them.

If they are annoying or unsupportive I wait as long as possible.

If they live really far away (like my best friend) they might be told sooner.

I'm weird.

We told very close friends and family right away. For the first one we waited until 13 weeks to tell everyone else (extended family, friends, coworkers). This time around we waited until 19 weeks to tell others, who hadn't looked at me closely enough to guess it on their own.

If it's close to what your really asking, maybe you should reman the poll, when do you tell beyond close family, or something like that.
I think most folks have a small set of folks that get told right away and then vary in how long they tell the next group, or even a third level in when they tell the public/work/Facebook

I told everyone immediately with my kiddos. I also told everyone with my last m/c. This time around, I've told a few, but I'll wait until we see/hear the HB to tell anyone else.

Last pregnancy when I was being very closely monitored due to previous miscarriages, we told everyone at 10 weeks. This time we waited until we heard the heart beat at 12 weeks

After the heartbeat...I was wayyyy too sick and tired and hungry and... PREGNANT to hide it through the 1st tri this time. I did with the first one, b/c we miscarried before that early on. But that made us realize we just had to tell everyone about the m/c anyway, so we felt okay telling earlier this time.

I had to choose as soon as you find out, but that was my DF's fault. I wanted to wait for a while, other than my Mom, but DF's big mouth had calls coming in from California within hours of his leaving for work.

around 6 weeks--my mom only (she can keep a secret). i went to visit and couldn't resist!

around 9 weeks or so when we heard the heartbeat--our immediate families (MIL then immediately announced on facebook to her closest 80 acquaintances before i even had a chance to tell all of my immediate family...grrr.)

around 11 weeks at work, bc i was being closely monitored and had to miss work for appointments and such. i have worked there for 7 years and am very comfortable with my boss/partner. it is a small business, where i am part owner, so not a huge deal for me to tell coworkers.

I voted after the 1st trimester, but I also wait until I've heard the heartbeat.

Generally speaking, after we see/hear a heartbeat... and usually after the first trimester. We tell very close family and friends right away.
