I've been wanting to post about this for a while, but I kept second guessing myself. I'm sure now that when my 2 year old DS gets too much calcium in his diet, it turns his urine cloudy (resulting in 1 bladder infection) He pees in the potty now, which is how I know.
Before he was potty trained I did a goat milk trial with him (he is cow dairy free) It took very little goat milk to cause it (he refused to drink it, so only sips here & there) This was in the winter.
Trial #1 - complained of penis pain, stopped trial
Trial #2 - complained briefly on penis pain, but developed at UTI - stopped trial
Small amounts of calcium rich foods are okay - hard goat cheese, canned salmon burger, oatmeal & almond milk. Those foods combined in the same day or too much of them and his urine turns cloudy again (and he has a restless sleep at night, but no other complaints)
I then up his D. Mannose and water intake to flush it away, which seems to work.
He is still nursing a fair amount - 4-6 times a day usually, and I seem to have lot's of milk. More nursing has never turned his urine cloudy though.
I can't find any info about this, and my Ped. looked at me like I had 2 heads when I mentioned it to her.
Does anyone know anything about this or have any experience with this??
Thank you
