What are you missing?

DW made cookies today and I was so sad that I could not eat the dough. I like the dough better than the finished product!

deli meat! after the heart walk today they gave out free subway sandwiches and i wanted a turkey one but opted for the veggie just to be safe! Oh and caffeinated lattes!

i miss wine....i love a glass of wine with dinner.
I work at home with my 2 kids, and that was the only "grownup" thing I had to look forward in the evening.

First time moms I see (some of you anyway)

I've eaten all of the above during pregnancy without any qualms or second thoughts. Except lunchmeat as I just don't eat meat. There's no way I'm giving up yummy brie, homemade mayo, or fresh local goat cheese. Personally I think the fear is maybe a little overblown. Japanese women eat sushi all through their pregnancies. And European women drink (in moderation of course) and they don't have rampant FAS.

I'm with you Kitten. Only maybe worse. I tossed all the "don't" lists in the trash with my first.

I avoid alcohol entirely during my first trimester (it's documented that most damage will happen then). I will drink moderately during the rest of my pregnancy.

I had a greek gyros the other night and it was YUM!

Yeah I do moderation on a lot of the "DONT DO THIS" stuff. I like the european model of pregnancy eating and drinking


things I am missing though:

-sparring at karate
-the karate certification college I was suppose to attend this coming weekend
-was training to run half marathon and thats now out as well
-being able to stay up late! I get so tired so fast!

Me, too! LOL

I do stay aware from alcohol, but I'm not a huge drinker anyway. I probably only drink 3 beers a year (hate wine)! All this talk of cookie dough....

I am going to be missing Mexican food! I had a burrito bowl from Chipotle (which I LOVE) today and paid for it. It wasn't even hot. At least I can still have guac!

Am I missing something? What's wrong with Mexican food??? (besides maybe the gas) lol

I'm not missing anything at this point except I'm trying to cut back on my coffee intake... with twin toddlers, this is *very* hard to do.

Now I want sushi..... If I could keep anything other than crackers down right now, I would probably make a sushi run with DH.

My stomach just settled/stopped hurting from when I ate it 9 hours ago! I usually love spicy food but apparently my pregnant body can't even handle medium.

I'm really trying to zap the coffee, I've only had two coffee drinks (3 oz coffee with 10oz raw milk) since I've been pg.

Beer. I love a good cold IPA in the summer. And my mind! I really need that.

Everything else I don't really consider giving up. I should switch to half caffeinated coffee because I know I couldn't stop cold turkey. Lunch meat, what? I don't like raw sushi. Am I just careless? With my first baby I was super careful about everything.

LoL, ok I get it now... I had a WTF moment thinking something about Mexican Food was off limits like the whole listeria-lunch meat thing. ( baby is apparently eating my brain...)

With my twins I craved spicy food and had lunch at the local Indian buffet every week. DH joked that the girls would come out demanding curry instead of breastmilk. (coincidentally they LOVE indian food, too).

This time around the morning sickness is awful, even water make me want to gag. I miss being able to eat...

Energy. I hate being constantly tired.

Oh and wine. Has a friend comming for yearly visit. Usually it means a certain amount of alcohol getting consumed along with dinner, or while enjoying the evening sun on the balcony. This time around I'll just have to settle for soda.
