Help: Blueberries in CA

Ok so my dh bought a big pretty Jubilee Blueberry bush already in a pot at the Nursery. That was only a week ago. It was doing good for a few days but, now the berries are wilting. I called the nursery and the lady said that in our area (Central CA) it needed shade? So, I moved it and it seemed to be doing better but that was short lived (like a day). What is wrong with this plant? I am very frusterated as he spent a lot of $ on it. HELP! Give me ideas! Thank you!

I don't know, but we also have a blueberry bush in CA. We're in San Diego, though. I got it awhile ago, but I don't recall exactly when (sometime before April). I apparently wasn't watering it enough. It turned to brown sticks when we went on vacation and the little berries were dried up when we came home. For the past three weeks, I have been watering it every single day. The gardening lady at my local nursery said to water it until water started trickling out of the container, then wait 15 minutes and water again until water trickles out. I've been doing this every day (except the two rainy days we've had) for about 24 days now and there is new green growth!

When I first got it, we were in our "winter" season and it needed sunshine. After the brown sticks bush, I moved it to part shade/part sun. It is coming back to life now, but I don't know if it is just the water or it is also from the new location.

Best wishes!

give it morning to early afternoon sun and afternoon shade. keep it away from walls, sidewalks, driveways where sun will be reflected. They don't like to be moved much so find a place for it and put it in the ground or a larger container. This will help keep it from drying out. Water it like the poster above suggested.

I live in the SFV, CA. We have two blueberry bushes. One is doing great and the other one is not doing well at all. The one that is doing better has a lot more shade. So shade does seem to make a huge difference. Beyond that I'm not much of a gardening expert so I hope the other ladies here can help you more.
