SPT question

DD (2 years 4 months) had skin prick testing today. She has a dairy protein allergy. She is also allergic to dog dander and house dustmite. Today's tests were to see if she is still allergic.

Does the size of the welts indicate how allergic she is? The dustmite welt was 3mm and the dog and dairy protein just over 5mm.

She has never had SPT before. She had a RAST test when she was younger when we first noticed a contact reaction to cheese. I cant remember the numbers.

Yes, a larger welt would indicate a more severe allergy. Those seem like really small welts. Did the allergist consider them a positive result? I guess it depends on what size the control and histamine were. Most allergists consider anything larger than the histamine spot a positive (for example, if the control is 3mm and the histamine is 6mm, anything 6mm or larger would be considered a positive.)
