I have a 10 mos old and we've been co-sleeping after his first waking at night (10 or 11ish). My husband comes to bed later and leaves early in the morning so we've been doing a pillow barricade. Well, this morning, my son crawled over the pillows and landed on the floor. He is okay (actually, way better than I expected - he only cried for a few minutes and no bleeding) but I'd like to avoid a repeat.
Any suggestions? I think he would climb over bed rails too but maybe not. We can't push the bed against the wall due to the room layout (nor can we sidecar due to layout). Ideally, I'd also prefer not to put the mattress on the floor as we're trying to sell the house but I know that might be the only option.
Thanks in advance!

She's so persistent that I'm learning that I have to let her learn for herself with many things. Now she carefully climbs down. I've known kids who's parents taught them around that age to turn around and scoot off butt first, but my daughter cannot figure it out for some reason!
