can new mama milk cause toddler rash?

Hi, all! I am 4 days postpartum and my milk has now come in w/ a vengeance! I nursed my 17 m.o. throughout this pregnancy, but my milk had dwindled significantly. Now that the milk is back in, my toddler is doing an *awesome* job at helping with my engorgement - this is what we've both been waiting for - but she now has a painful red rash on her bottom. She does get rashy from time to time anyway, but all her rashy problems started after she began solids when I got pg & she was 8 m.o. I would think mama milk would be very digestible for her & wouldn't cause this, but I can't figure any other reason for it.

Anyone else have this happen? And if this is the cause, any ideas on helping the rash so she can continue to nurse now? I could probably start potty learning w/ her soon, but not for a few weeks. Her nursing thru this engorged period helps not only me (and her in the sense that she's loving having the milkies back), but her newborn sister as well b/c the baby has a reeeaaally hard time latching when I'm that full.

Thanks for any experience or ideas!

huh. Never heard of that. Only thing I can think of is that it made her poop looser than she's used to so it had more skin contact?
