Very Sleepy 4 week Old!

My 4 week old DD sleeps.. A LOT! I don't remember her two older brothers sleeping THIS much! She'll easily go two or three hours at a time during the day. She'll wake to nurse. Maybe check out the world for 10 or 15 minutes and then it is out again for another 10 or 15 minutes.

At night she'll sleep 6 or 7 hours at a stretch. I've got to get up and pump or I'm DIEING! Plus, I have WAY too much milk and a very fast let down. She chokes and gags and gets gassy if I don't take a little off. I don't sleep well as I'm checking on her every 20 minutes!

I'm trying to just let it go and count my blessings. But really... 6 or 7 hours at not even 4weeks?

She's gaining weight VERY well. Between her 2nd and 3rd week she gained a pound and a quarter. She has TONS of wet diapers. I'm not worried about that.

Any thoughts on this?

enjoy. as long as she is gaining she is fine. i had the same worries with my dd, then i relaxed and enjoyed it.

That all sounds EXACTLY like my baby! I tried to wake her every 2 or 3 hours for milk during the day and usually couldn't even wake her! She would sleep 13-14 hours at night straight by 10 weeks! I think she started waking more during the day around 8-10 weeks. Now, at 15 weeks, I have trouble getting her to sleep in the day and she wakes every couple house at night, so enjoy it while it lasts!

dd2 slept a lot too. I went all natural and she had no interventions like vax. I was surprised. dd1 woke up every 2 hrs it seems (hard to remember now). dd2 would sleep 12 hrs, only telepathically (it seemed) telling me she needed to nurse while sleeping, so she did nurse every 3-4 hrs, except she would sleep 6-7 hours sometimes too. She was a bigger baby than dd1, over 8 lbs.... but when she was 3 mo it changed a bit, she nursed more often into a regular pattern of every 3 hours... gg
