Is Connor's appt to get fitted for his personal FM system!!
I got ahold of the head audiologist's direct phone number (I felt like it was contraband, lol!) and called her directly this morning instead of waiting for the referral to go through. We leave tomorrow for a family wedding, then Connor is staying with his grandma for two weeks (eek!) so he'll be gone for 3 weeks now. I called her and explained that, and asked if she could squeeze us in before we leave.
She hadn't gotten the referral, didn't know anything about Connor, but said "let me check my schedule!" She got him in tomorrow afternoon!!!! She asked for a quick overview of his history, and said that she would be calling his ENT for more info. She's pretty sure she's going to fit him with an Edulink http://www.hearingloss.ca/pdf/com_02...re_edulink.pdf which looks like it's exactly what he needs.
Insurance is going to be a problem, but I told her to go ahead and let it go to self pay and we'd figure it out somehow. We have some family home services money that we haven't used, and have some money in our health care savings account we can use too.
I'm excited and anxious! I don't know if this is going to be the answer, but it feels like we're doing something!!
