Would you cancel this appointment?

DS has an appointment with the allergist for re-testing for a strawberry allergy. I really want him to get tested before strawberry season is over, but its not critical, obviously.

Currently, he has a raging case of chickenpox. He literally has hundreds of pox and has had a relatively high fever (102-103) for all of today. When we went in to his ped today to get the CP verified, she said that he would most likely still be contagious a week from now. He will definitely still have spots healing at the very least on Monday.

Would you reschedule the appointment?

i would be surprised if the allergist will even let him in the door. I would go ahead and cancel it now and save everyone the hassle of a later cancellation.

Also, if his skin is irritated, I would imagine a SPT will be impossible.

I definitely wouldn't go if he were still contagious, but was more worried about his skin still being irritated. I pretty much figured I should cancel it, but wanted some opinions from some folks who are more familiar with allergy testing.
