Cat Poop ~ will this hurt my veggies?

A couple of the free-roaming neighborhood cats seem to think my veggie patch makes a great litterbox . I've been scooping the poop (ie like a real litterbox), but I'm wondering if the cat poop makes the food unsafe for any reason. I will wash it well, of course. Meanwhile, I'm installing netting this weekend.

The diseases cat feces carry are mainly dangerous to very young kids and unborn babes through their mothers' exposure, and immunocompromised people. Your youngest is 4 and you aren't expecting? I'd think a good washing and it should be perfectly safe.
