The last couple days DD has taken to biting me repeatedly and hard while I'm trying to rock her for her nap. She's nipped me once or twice before at other times but nothing consistently like this and at those times I've just told her that we're gentle when we touch other people and that biting is not okay. Before, she just moved on to other things.

What's different about it now is that when I react by making eye contact and telling her to be gentle and biting is not okay, that it hurts mama, etc., she laughs at me and then goes to do it again. I've tried ignoring it but it really really hurts. (she's biting me on my shoulder, on that little bit of skin above the collarbone) I've tried just not responding verbally but moving her head gently to face the other way. She just laughs and moves her head back. I've tried putting her down on the floor for 10 seconds and explaining that it hurts mama and I don't want to cuddle her when she's hurting me. But as soon as I pick her up again, she bites me again.

I know she's so little but there must be something I can do to help her learn that it's unacceptable behaviour. It's tough because it's naptime so I don't really want to distract her with a toy, etc. I want to continue with the naptime routine but don't want her to bite me. I'm finding myself getting really angry about it.

Any other suggestions?
