Yup, I haven't seen all the movies, but I don't think I would make that association myself, it seems other people do though! I guess there is some other game, unrelated, that uses that name. I don't know that many "gamers" so it may not matter though.

I also love, love, love the name Sparrow. I think the Jack Sparrow references would be a thing for a few years, but I think they would stop - there's been 3 of those movies and they aren't planning on making any more, I don't think.
If you love birds why not look up some ornithology sites?
We're not settled yet either. I think first names are settled but middle names are still up for grabs and we can't agree. We've tabled it for now. Hopefully something will come to us all!

I actually do like the name Polly, just not Polly Jean, and then there are 5 generations of Paul in my family, so that seems strange. I have thought about looking up other birds... All I could think of was Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird! I do know a woman that named all her kids after birds, and it wasn't really so cute.

We're sort of back to the drawing board as well, and probably won't have anything settled until after the baby is born, maybe a few days even. My friend always names her babies a week after they are born. No big deal.

Thanks! I really can't get this association out of my head. Not so much with dh though.

I am afraid that if we wait we might name her jellybean or something! My friend wanted to name her baby "Trouble" Yes, I'm serious, so she changed the vowels and named her something else. I just think that's kind of uh, sad.

That's what we did with my dd, but this list isn't getting short!

And we both thought- THAT is the one! We tried out a few but couldn't agree on the pronunciation or nicknames, and after a while each of them just didn't feel right. But this name is perfect-it's not what we expected, but it's definitely our baby girl's name! ...IF it's a girl.
We haven't told anyone our name choices either. No comments needed from the peanut gallery, thank you very much.

That's so cool! I was named after a song too, and music is quite important to me, and dh, so this seems like a good way to go but it's not working out! When I was preggo with dd I couldn't even fathom a boys' name, I took it as a sign!

We don't tell people our names either, maybe sprinkle a couple around with our friends who like unusual names but that's it. My friend who is Native American suggested Sparrow, she comes up with the best nature names! I think that with her tribe they can get away with all kinds of names that may not be accepted in mainstream society though??? Who knows?
I'm just glad I'm not the only one in this situation!!! I don't feel quite so behind now! I would just like a shorter list so when we meet her we have something.
