1 yo ate a pencil!!

This child will be the death of me (and herself probably...given the rate we're going right now).

My 4yo gave her a watercolor pencil (Prang, made in mexico...probably 10 yrs old because they were my husbands before we got married). She bit off, chewed and swallowed a small chunk of the colored tip before I realized what was going on.

Poison control lady said it's graphite...I'm not convinced. Any insights?

I don't think I would worry about it if poison control isn't. She will poo it out and all will be ok I am sure.

It is nerve racking though. I remember DS choked on something and then cleared his airway by getting it down. I asked him what he swallowed and he say "baby money" (he was just under 2yo) I called the nurse hotline and they said to just wait for it to pass. Later that night he pooed out a penny!

DP found a closed safety pin in DD's poop. I cried really hard. Terrifying. I didn't even know it was there. She's sick now and I've been paranoid that she's swallowed something worse. I wasn't so worried about all the little leaves, cat hair balls, tiny pieces of paper that she was eating, but finding a safety pin. I'd be worried about a pencil, too, but I'm not saying it's rational and you should be. Our kids are probably fine.
