I would love, love, love to have another one but DH says no. We went into this marriage agreeing on two and after DD1 I really had to fight to get him to agree to #2, so the idea of #3 is a huge, huge, huge longshot. He knows how I feel and if someday he changes his mind I'd jump at the chance for a 3rd. I just don't feel done, not at all. I look at DD2 and I say "this is it?" "I really don't get to do this again?" and I can't believe it. I get so incredibly sad when she outgrows clothes knowing that most likely no other baby of ours will wear them. I just don't feel like our family is complete yet, but most likely it is.

Well maybe not two babies at once! But all of my friends who have older singles BEG me for my son. They go nuts because their kids demand a lot more attention unless they have someone else around. My kids for example don't really hang on me all the time as they play together. Heck, they teach other. Umberto and Camille are teaching Piper her letters and numbers. Even having the baby is easier with all my little helpers: Umberto holds Rowena so I can get breakfast ready, Camille reads to her, and Piper loves playing with her. when I just had one it was all me all the time Now I can disperse the work around a bit more. Plus after the first one, the care of the second one seems easier (at least it did for me). I keep saying that the fourth has been a cake walk, and it really has been for me.

ah, yes, now i see. i was thinking one or 7.... like you have to have much older and many more before you get those kinds of benefits. your kids sounds so great

my mom was one of 7 and laments not getting much one-on-one w/ her parents.

i am one of three, and only ever succeeded in making my sister cry when i would "babysit" for my mom

We've gotten some grief from my BIL about how someday the kids will resent not getting enough from us. I'm not sure on that though. I am pretty much a SAHM and we homeschool so they are always around us. We make sure to do one on one things with them although it's not organized. I hope they each feel special!

My girls fight something fierce so it's not all rainbows and joy. I just love that they are so close to each other and really are each other's best friends (at least for now).
