Bad latch with a 13 month old

Thread Starter
I work 2 days a week, so my DD has gotten a bottle from about 12 weeks on. Last week I went to a conference out of town, so she was getting a bottle for 5 days. When I got back she went back to nursing easily and happily (thank god), but her latch isn't as good. It's like she's using too much teeth. I have 4 top teeth marks on my areola after every nursing session. Ouch! It also feels like the area is bruised. It hurt to pump today at work. To make matters worse, my fertility is returning, so I think the area is just more sensitive. And, of course, DD is getting her molars.

I have tried to make sure she is very close before letting her latch on, that seems to get more areola. Any other advice?

I have noticed with my nurslings that when they are teething they will sometimes tweak their latch and it is uncomfortable. Other wise I have no other ideas besides trying to relatch until it feels like her latch is correct.
