breastfeeding/caffiene question

I am BF-ing my 3rd LO. She is 3 weeks old. I love coffee. I added back in a cup of coffee and she seemed indifferent. I have added in an early afternoon cup as well and she seems indifferent as well. Is this okay if she doesn't seem to mind, or am I doing some damage I can't see? I had 2-3 cups w/ my others and they seem fine. :-) Not sure why this one seems so delicate to me.

It never made a difference with my kids.

too...
i never noticed that it made one bit of difference with my lo. i'm even doing a 3rd cup or more sometimes now.
i read that caffeine doesn't enter your breastmilk as much as some things, like alcohol, but even so, i would think it more harmful for myself at least to try to function without it.. operating machinery and such... enjoy your cuppa.

I decreased from the 20 oz cup at work to the 16 oz. and have stuck with that since returning to work at 7 wks pp. Doesn't seem to affect the LO at all. And I have a large cup the days I work from home also.

Yep, need the coffee! Being a WOHM with a 10 month old, definitely love the coffee! I have a coffee mug full in the morning (probably really 2 cups of coffee in there), plus a soda in the afternoon (I know, not totally healthly, but it's my weakness). Never noticed a difference with DD.

The only one of mine who seemed bothered by caffeine was DD2. If I drank anything caffeinated after about 3 pm, she'd have a really fussy evening and have the heck of a time sleeping until really late that night.

The other two kids didn't show any signs of reacting to caffeine at all.

I'd say if your LO seems fine, she IS fine. I also think that having a baby means you miss a lot of sleep, and you have to be able to get through the day somehow.
