Gift for 8 y.o. girl?

That's $10 or less and on Amazon? DS is going to a party on Saturday as a friend of the birthday girl's younger sibling. I want him to bring a small, nice gift, although he doesn't know her well. Any ideas?
thanks,

I think I might bring something summer-themed. Some of those giant bubble wands or a kite or something along those lines.

My 8 yo DD would love a craft kit of any kind.

DD got this for her birthday and loved it:

I showed DD some options on Amazon and she thought this was cool:

Amcal, that's funny -- I was JUST looking at that shrink jewelry kit! I think it's between that one and this one:

my 9 yr old also loves craft kits, but we've got so many! Might surreptiously ask the mom if she's already got one.

Am finding diary/blank books with a nice pen a great option for my 8 yo's friends. Also small beading kits and shrinky dinks stuff great.
