Hi, I am 65 days late on my period. I have been having right ovarian pain, so I went to the dr yesterday and had a pap to see if I have a cyst or something causing this pain and late period. My pregnancy test was negative(i am trying to get pregnant), and the dr said my cervix was blue, which she told me was a sign of early pregnancy, so I am scheduled for a ultrasound friday, but she is puzzled by the negative urine test....does anyone know..is your cervix blue for any other reason besides pregnancy??

Wow! I had never heard that before : I'd be interested in knowing the answer though!

In the book Taking Charge Of Your Fertility Weschler talks about that as a sign if I am remembering right. It happens because of the increase in blood flow in the area.

I saw this on the new posts. A blue cervix is known as Chadwick's sign, and it is considered a "probable" sign of pregnancy. It's possible that you are early on in the pregnancy which is why the urine test was negative. I bet if you tested in the morning with FMU you might have a different outcome. Good luck at your ultrasound!

You are on CD65 or you are 65 days after O or AF? GL to you!

hegar's sign, goodell's sign, chadwick's sign- this is how they used to tell our grandmother's they were pg, that and they would start to get fat, and maybe if they had a rabbit to sacrifice, they might test that way, if they were at least 2 cycles late! these things start to happen (if they happen) in the 6-8 wk range- when your uterus should also be (softening and) enlarging. did your doctor do a bimanual exam too? is it an ob? did they order a beta hcg? you know there are those raaaare women who dont metabolise hcg in such a way as to have it show in their urine....

Thanks for the comments. The nurse practitioner did my pelvic exam, I don;t know what kind she did, it was just a normal pap I suppose. She said she didn't feel any cysts or anything, the first thing she said when she opened me up was hmmmm you have cervical cyanosis, so it must have been pretty noticeable. She didn;t comment on anything else..she just ordered me an ultrasound. She said I may be in early stages of pregnancy and the hcg levels might not be high enough to pick up on the test. I guess I will find out friday when I have my ultrasound whats going on..Ill keep you posted.

My last period was April 6, it lasted for 5 days. I ovulated on the 14th of April, and again on the 5th of May. I don't know why I ovulated again on the 5th of May, but I did.

Weird about the ovulating twice, do you chart? I have been wanting to see a chart with 2 ovulations for a long time! Is it possible that you geared up to ovulate in April and didn't ovulate until May?
