Fermented Foods, Bad Reaction?TMI

I think that I get really, really sick if I consume certain fermented foods or probiotics.

I've gotten really sick after consuming beer, Activia yogurt, kefir and possibly some fermented veggies(not all together). My symptoms include body aches, vomiting, diarrhea, burping and gas.

The thing that's so upsetting is that I keep reading how all of this stuff is so good for you. Why would I react so violently to it? Is there anything that I can do to fix it?

I know that with the exception of kefir these on not traditional foods, but I know that there's a lot of lacto-fermented foods in the traditional diet, so I thought I'd check with all of you for ideas.

Is it a candida die-off or a histamine reaction? I haven't always been this way, only for the last 3 1/2 years.

ETA: I also had horrible body aches when I was on probiotics. I tried several different brands.

I don't really know what it is, but I wanted to mention that beer, yogurt (though not activia specifically,) and lactofermented veggies ARE very traditional foods.

Sorry- just read your last thing.

It could be that you're just really sensitive. How much were you consuming? What about starting with a teaspoon of LF veggies? What do you think would happen then?

I thought that maybe I was consuming too much, but I'm not sure.

When I was drinking Kefir, I was probably drinking too much, maybe 4 oz.?

Everything else is in fairly normal amounts. Small container of yogurt, for example.

The most recent attack was when I made some Tuna and I added capers and red wine vinegar. That was probably a T. of capers and 2 T. of vinegar.

This has been going on for awhile and I'm certain that it's not a coincidence and I haven't been ill.

I was planning to make some dill pickles out of some cukes from the garden and now I'm scared.

Try posting in the allergy forum.

Just because these are TF doesn't make them right for everyone.

It could totally be yeast die-off or something similar.
