Relactation

Hi, I'm new here.
I was misinformed after having my youngest son 7 months ago.
I have done my research and have just started to pump every 2 hours for 10 minutes at a time to get a supply. I feel guilty and ashamed for not breast feeding. I will be happy even if he doesnt latch on, and will only take it from the bottle. I would prefer latching but he's an older baby. Now onto my question for this evening.

TMI maybe?
My right breast , after 2 pumping sessions seems to already be producing colostrum! which is terrific but is this possible? or is it that one of my breasts never actually completely dried?

There is no need to feel guilt or shame. We all do the best we can with what we know. It is good that you are taking steps to do what you feel is right now. I have always breastfed, so I am not a relactation expert, but sounds good! I had my first child in 1993, and was always able to squeeze out a few drops in the years following, and between my girls too, so maybe you have good producing breasts too. I have heard other women talking about the SNS system and something called a LactAid too, they are systems that deliver milk via a tube at your breast as you have baby nurse. Having baby stimulating you may work even better than a pump, and get LO used to the difference in taste more gradually... yay for you!
