The last day of daycare... ever!

Dd finished kindergarten today. She was in full day K because our local school only had 1/2 day, and no after care.

Next year she starts 1st grade at our local public school. Dh works from home, so he can be home when the kids get home from school. That means no more daycare!

We're going to muddle through the summer - I'm only teaching for 4 weeks, so it's not too bad for dh. We decided it would be easier for everyone if dd were just home with dh and ds and the rest of the neighborhood.

Now maybe we'll be able to replace our 2 ancient cars with one that'll last.

We are in daycare til the end of June and then...finito! On to Kindergarten. I paid for 6 weeks of parks and rec camp for the summer back in March, so dare I say that I, too, am done writing checks?

But, I am taking what I used to spend on daycare and putting it into a college fund now so it's not like I'll have that fabled "fancy shoe money" people are always talking about with WOHM's.

I hope she likes regular school next year.

Ahhh, I remember that feeling so well. When our youngest finished preschool and went on to K and we didn't have that HUGE monthly expense anymore....and then I got pregnant again...so here we go again!
(i'm a little jealous of your post to be honest...even though I know a baby is so fun, it is SO nice when you can stop paying for childcare!)

Enjoy!!
