TTC #2 while BF...but no period yet!

Hi Ladies!

My husband and I have been trying to have another baby, but I am still not fertile I have a DS who is 14 months, but my period is still yet to return. We co-sleep, so it is nearly impossible for me to not nurse throughout the night. My little guy loves to nurse! I have been feeling cramping, bloating, and some mood swings as if my cycle would start, but still no sign I just started taking Vitex (Chasteberry) to help regulate my hormones to hopefully jumpstart things. My main question is that I have been taking ovulation tests almost daily to see if I could catch when I ovulate before I ever get my first period....but some days the line is quite visible, about 40% dark, and then other days it's very light. ???? Does this mean my body is starting to get there, or is this what every woman's body does throughout any days of the month? Is there any advice anyone can give me? We so dearly want another baby, but I will not wean my DS until he is ready. Thank you so much!

It sounds to me like your body is preparing for fertility but not quite ready yet. Doesn't hurt to keep trying though!

Hi!

Thanks for the replies Vitex is an herb...aka Chasteberry. There is tons of info on it online...just google it. It is known to help regulate hormones and help with ovulation. My midwife said it was completely safe while breastfeeding, but it may affect milk supply. My milksupply has remained unchanged and I've been on Vitex for about 3 weeks. You can buy Vitex-Chasteberry at any GNC or Whole Foods/or other natural food store. Good luck! Let me know if it works for you!

Got some today lol. Doubt it is enough time to make a difference but still worth a try. Thanks for the info.
