Are you exercising? Check in here!

I've seen that a few of us are working out while we ttc (and hopefully continue when we're pregnant ). I thought it might be nice to have a weekly exercise thread. So, who are you, what are your goals, and what are you doing today?

I'm Cami, 31, TTC #4. I'm training for a half marathon in August and another in November. Tonight, I did an hour of weights

I'd really like to get back in good shape. I'd join your thread, I was an athlete before preganacy four years ago, and I miss my old self. Now I just walk and do my little stair stepper.

Hi there! Welcome What kind of sports did you enjoy before you got pregnant?

Hi! I would like to join your thread because I DON'T exercise and I let the business of a toddler and working fulltime be my excuse! I would like to commit to exercising and I could use some support. (And the school year ends tomorrow and I might have some time now.)

Can I join in? At first, I kind of thought "what's the point of working out hardcore if I'm going to get pregnant right away?"...but here I am 6 cycles later and no fitter!

So, I bit the bullet and have been working out pretty well for the last two weeks. I try and get at least 250 calories burnt every day just for the habit of it.

I do Wii EA Active, Wii Fit, treadmill uphill aggressive walking, and last night, a pole dance class! Fun!!

Hi,

I exercise every day for at least 1/2 an hour. Usually I just walk or use my elliptical. I would like to start jogging, but I let my embarrassment keep me from giving it a try.

I'm Peggy, 38 trying for #2.

Peggy, if you are ever interested in getting started, couch to 5k is an excellent program to begin with.

I'd love to join up! I'm Sarah, 35, SAHM and TTC #2. I have over 100 pounds to lose but seem to come with all kinds of excuses to not exercise. I have a gym membership, an elliptical hubby found at a garage sale, videos, etc and still have managed to avoid them all.

Couch to 5K- I second that opinion. It's a really great program to get you running. I got through week 4 and stopped but am going to start back up again. I've tried a few other things to turn myself into a "runner" but they were too hard and I'd get discouraged but C25K is very effective and is doable- even at my weight

Agree too with other poster that TTC/pregnancy used to be my excuse to not try very hard but here I am still overweight and not pregnant. No time like the present, I guess!

Just so happens, I just went to the gym this morning to do circuits so this thread is good timing!

I'll join in!
I'm 31 and 'waiting' to TTC until DH decides it's time. I'd like to lose 40 lbs, but would probably be happy with 10-15; whatever gets me back into the size 2 pants.

This summer I ran my 1st 5K and am training for an indoor triathlon in a few weeks. I do strength training once a week for 1/2 an hour with my trainer, cardio for an hour at least once a week (most weeks) and yoga, hot yoga, or pilates at least twice per week.

Yesterday was hardcore weights with my trainer (although that's usually Tuesdays) and today will be biking or running in the great outdoors if the weather holds.

I want to be pregnant, but not fat, and I do NOT want to let getting pregnant mean that my body gets all lumpy and disgusts me for the rest of my life (for the record: I'm there right now and trying to get to a size that makes me feel attractive before I get PG).

What are everyone's current BMI/Body fat %s and GOALS?
Current BMI: 25.51
Current Body Fat%: 27(and change, forgot to write it down)
GOAL: from a size 6 to a size 2

I'm not really sure what my BMI is and my only size related goal is to fit into maternity clothing sometime soon I do have fitness related goals, though.

My goals:
if I'm not pregnant by my race-run a sub 2:00 half
if I am pregnant by my race-finish a half and to maintain cardiovascular fitness and strength so I can pick up training again shortly after birth.

I'm disappointed to say that I probably won't have anything to report this weekend. We're going out of town to visit my sister and it's hard to slip off when I'd rather be spending time with her. Look out Monday, I'll be back on track!
