blood sugar stabilization and infection fighting.
My dad is in the hospital AGAIN with a staph infection. Due to surgery and diabetes, he's been susceptible. I'm far away and I'm pretty sure he doesn't eat as well as he should. He's promised to drastically increase his fermented foods intake and was interested in me suggesting some tinctures for him.
I know what I take and give my kids: echinacea, oregon grape root, astragalus, garlic. Is there something for fighting infections prophylactically that would be best for a diabetic?
And what about cinnamon? Is that something to tincture for blood sugar or is it just supposed to be eaten? My midwife/herbalist is out of the country for awhile, so thanks for any help!
