I need some advice.
DD is 6 months. I went back to work when she was 4 months. I work 3 days a week (Mon, Thurs, Fri). On these days I nurse DD on my lunch hour and pump in the morning and afternoon. I also pump in the morning before she wakes. I'm getting barely enough milk for her with my pump. Here's what I'm doing/trying:
-Medela PIS Advanced (used w/ DS 2 years ago, had more than enough milk each day and in freezer.)
-breast massage/compressions
-I have pictures of my kids while pumping.
-I'm in my private office, but not working (personal phone calls, searching web, staring at pictures/out window, etc.)
Let's see other stuff: I have more than enough milk. I'm tandem nursing DD & DS (2.5 yrs). Milk frequently dribbling when she's done & fallen asleep. After pumping I frequently still painfully full. I'm larger breast and use the largest size horn available (size smaller one was hurting me). To eke`out the 3-5 oz I get from a 50 minute double pump session, I reset the pump 2-4 times to get the initial let-down phase. Milk is coming the entire time but just drops at a time. This means i am pumping 100-150 minutes a work day plus nursing on average 10 other times (usually 10-20 minutes each). On more than one occasion I've added water to the BM just to get her a minimum enough to satisfy her (2 5-oz bottles) - but even that still results in a call asking me to come nurse her. She & DD are really grabby so pumping on one side & nursing the other hasn't worked.
Other ideas?
