Is this an infection?

So, I've felt like I have a "bulge" of tissue from the inside of the vagina for 2 months or so now. I mentioned it to the OB but he didn't even look, just said that things start to sag. I think it's much worse now, and it feels like it may be burning a little when I pee. Dh took a look and said that he thought it may be an infection...I think it may have have started same time I had an yeast infection that I was able to treat with Monistat. Could a BV infection happen at the same time? I'm getting concerned because I know BV can seriously affect the baby. I called the office, and they scheduled me for next week since I'm going out of town tomorrow. Should I insist they see me today? My dh is usually the one who thinks things are nothing, and he's concerned...

What else could it be? If it was varicose veins, what would it look like?

it doesnt really sound like the BV I have had (never had a bulge from it?!)

The burning when peeing could be BV... or it could be a UTI which is also very very common in pregnancy (even without the urgency to pee, I can get UTIs with no symptoms at all)

As for the bulge... is it up inside or more on the outside? Do you have to reach up in to feel it or do you feel it when you wipe?

Does it feel like a lump, or more like you are just swollen?

Theres all sorts of things that I can think of that could be described as you did, including some extremely normal pregnancy things and most are easily treated.

I have no idea what this could be, so please forgive me, lmk1, for the brief interruption. (I hope you figure out whatever is causing this, though. Good luck.):

Mae is back!

All is right with the MDC world again.

Thank you, that is all.

Okay, here comes more TMI... but first: You are BRAVE, having dh take a look! I'd be afraid my dh would pass out or run away screaming, after what I saw when I took a look at my own downtown self. I felt bulging tissue, and just fullness/swelling, so I grabbed a mirror and checked it out. TMI: I believe I saw my own cervix only an inch or two inside! And the fingertip dilation with lovely mucus plug certainly resembled an infection -- or some kind of alien invasion. My understanding is that prolapse can happen during second or later pregnancies, due to everything being more relaxed and "starting to sag" -- and the and I'm pretty sure that is what is happening in my case. Maybe yours, too?

The burning when you pee sounds like a separate issue, most likely a UTI. I'd drink a lot of water/electrolytes, and if you still have any burning when you pee, get to a doctor sooner than later. Don't know how far a long you are, but UTI can send you into early labor. Best wishes, mama!

sounds like it could be an infected bartolus gland. does it feel like there is pressure?

I did beg my way to get an appt yesterday. The OB said "the bulge" is the back part of the wall coming down...he mentioned something like it could end up being a prolapse, but nothing to worry about now...which is all I wanted to hear. We are out of town now for a week, so I was just freaking out thinking I'll be somewhere else and something bad would happen! I didn't have anything like this with my first, but I guess that's the joy of giving birth. I know dh was pretty horrified I guess now he's not wondering why he hasn't gotten any recently.

I don't think I have a UTI...I've had lots of them in my life, and this didn't feel like it,...maybe it was just the inside feeling irritated?

So, does carrying anything heavy (like my toddler) contribute to this problem? My mom is always telling me not to lift anything, but ds sometimes wants only mommy to carry him.

Yep, that's what I suspected... same for me. Glad it turned out not to be anything immediately dangerous.
