Thank you, foster families

I just wanted to say thank you to all you foster mamas (and papas) out there. I am a pediatric nurse and (without going into details cause that would be wrong... not to mention illegal) I occasionally have the opportunity to deal with foster families. I can't thank those families often... so I'll thank you. Thank you for opening your home. Thank you for caring. Thank you for guiding. Thank you for offering your love to some amazing kiddos.

Thanks so much for that. If ever there were a day it were more appreciated, never more than today.

And thank YOU--because before they come to us (especially the newborns), they are in your loving hands.

Ditto. I often wish I could go and find the nurses who reported my daughter's failing health and neglect and tell them how grateful I am that they saved her life.

I've often thought of trying to find the nurses that took care of my baby while he spent two weeks in the hospital awaiting a foster home. I did find out an online friend of mine is a nurse at the hospital where he was born, and she assured me the babies in the shelter wing (or whatever its called) are totally loved on while they wait for homes. She posted a sign for me, but so far no one has contacted her. I'd love to see if anyone thought to take a pic of him in those early weeks.

Another *like* here
My first fost-adopt son actually lived in the hospital nursery for his first two and half months of life. No pictures of his time there then. But oh those nurses, they loved him up good. He came home with several toys and goodies. I took a picture of a few of them with him before we left and sent it to them, too.
When we went back two years later for little brother (who was there for two weeks) we were pleased to see his picture still hanging up. The nurses were happy the brothers would be together.
Thanks for the kudos.
