Got my VBAC today!!

My daughter was born today, she was 39wk1d gest. 20 3/4 inch, 9 pounds 14 ounces. I got a second degree tear but am otherwise ok.

I have come to believe the most important factor in VBAC or regular vaginal birth is who your provider is. Choose wisely!

She was born at the hospital- I planned to go with a Midwife who delivers out of her home (the next state over, my state doesn't allow Midwife homebirths) but I came back GBS + ( the MW doesn't do antibiotics & I was higher risk b/c I was having GBS UTI's) and it turned out I had to go on insulin in the third trimester so I risked out anyways.

Someone from this forum (thank you whoever you were) sent me to the ICAN website where high praises are sung of a Dr in Atlanta who has an incredible low c/s & high VBAC rate. I figured he was my last best chance... so I drove 2 1/2 - 3 hours to be his patient.
Even though being stuck on the monitor kinda sucked, at least he trusts women's bodies to do as they were designed. My doula was totally awesome too - she even let my husband and me stay at her house for days until the birth.
