Dh annoying me about names- NOW?

I cant help it but want to strangle him.

about 3 months ago we went through names he came up with NOTHING
so I suggested a boys name and a girls name and he said they are both OK and never brought up names again. So I figured I had our names picked out and that he was ok with them since he didnt oppose anything. Especially since thats basically how we discuess everything and have 2 other childrens names.

well last night he says "dont you think we need to pick names for this baby?"

I was like UM what? your saying this 3 months after the fact that I asked you if you had any names you liked? and I got alittle testy. He said that IM acting like the oddest thing hes ever seen and tells me that I have issues and IM being nasty and weird I was thinking is he kidding? Oh and that he needs "US" to sit down and look at lists because he doesnt have any names picked out (so what are we doing?)
Hes sooo on my nerves..... PLUS the girls name is one that HE had picked out for our last baby so I knew he liked it then. IM SURE ALOT OF IT IS MY HORMONES but come on really is it nessesary to "go over names when he still doesnt have any?"

I have learned not to talk to my dh too much in pregnancy about names...it's just not real for him til they are here. He's ended up agreeing to whatever I want or what I thought we wanted every time, but he does bring it up like it's a question when I've been set on the name for months!! This time I pulled the "You know, I'm carrying and birthing this baby, and unless you have some serious rationale for opposing what I want to name him, I need you to let me name him what I want." He was like "Okay, point taken." : ) I know it's "our" child, but I do think the mother's opinion deserves somewhat more weight.

My DH has never come up with a decent name suggestion, which irks me no end.
Then he says that my name choice is the best option but that he doesn't love it!
I'm just ignoring him on the topic at this point unless he proposes an alternative! Which he won't....

I feel the same way! Luckily my husband doesn't have any opposing opinions to any names I have picked out. I make the list, show him, he says what he likes/doesn't like and I make the final decision. I did push him to come up with a girl name and it was TERRIBLE so I learned my lesson

i feel so much better that the name game doesn't go so well elsewhere! dp has been a pain in the rear this time around!! i've "known" this child's name for many months. after asking him for his opinion/input dozens of times, i give. her name is her name. not feeling flexible anymore.

and the hormones do not help!!

I told my DP flat out when we found out I was pregnant that if this was a girl her name would be Lily. I put my foot down on it I've wanted a girl named Lily since I was a teenager. So we came to the agreement that I would pick first name for a girl and middle name for a boy and he would get first name for a boy and middle name for a girl. (As long as the other didn't absolutely hate the name). It worked well for us.

Meh. I told my man that he gets to pick. I just felt like so much of this is my experience, and I wanted something special to be more his since it's his first baby and my second and I named our oldest.

We came up with the names together. The boy name wants I am not so in love with, but I'm willing to go along because he really likes it and honestly I can't think of one better. I totally took over on the girl name and love it to bits, though. On that one, I claim veto power, but he likes it all right, so we're in agreement.

At first he was driving me crazy, though, because every time we'd talk about it, all he'd say was dumb stuff like Dropkick and Victrola

I would be mad if he was just getting involved in the name process at the end, though. What a pain.

In the beginning too all we can do is make up silly names also...

my DH is just now getting into the naming thing. he has two boy names picked out that I am totally ok with. I mentioned that it would be good to pick at least one girl name, but so far nothing on his end.
