I'm not sure how challenging you will find it. Honestly, I didn't sweat or anything- It was a challenge to me only because I literally haven't worked out in 4 months.

Good luck!!!

Full 1st Week

Hello ladies- here are the mamas that I have on my list for this group so far:
-Me (Jamie- Happy912)
-Jamie (AndysQueen)
-Laura (Laurata)
-Rasberry.swirl (do I know your name yet?!? sorry- preggo brain)
-Cindy (cindyleed)
-wholewheatchick (Emily)
-Jessica (jwpsgurl)

I figured it was arbitrary which day we actually "staretd" our week- so I figured, why not Monday, since that is the start of the work week

It's too bad too because I walked 30 minutes today!

Anyhoo, I believe my goal was the smallest with working out 3 times this next week- most of you plan for 4-5 days, so let's get crackalackin! That means that if you aren't posting Monday, you better plan a Tuesday workout!

Cant' wait to see you all check in with your workouts of empowerment

Sorry group...I'm terrible about getting on line on the weekends at home. I'm on the computer so much during the workweek I neglect it at home.

But I did manage to get in a good work out on Friday night. I'm planning on getting to the gym tonight also. Hopefully I can make it 3x this week, since I only went twice last week. I had a good work out on Friday though and even added some arm stregthening exercizes to my routine!

Also, I'm sure everyone else here listens to some kind of music while working out. I have an Ipod shuffle. It's plenty for me cause I usually only use it for workouts. Anyways, my first workout of last week I forgot it at home. My workout dragged and was so hard and I barely thought I would make it all 30 mins on the eliptical. So on friday I made sure to remember my ipod and my g-d was my workout so much more energized and invigorating. Music makes such a huge difference for me!

Boo! I didn't make it to the gym at all this weekend, I was too worn out. I have high hopes of taking the kids to the pool this afternoon though.

Good job everyone, keep at it!

We have a stationary bike, it is way too hot for me this time of year outside (104 today)! We have a pretty good gym set up with a smith machine, cables, squat rack/pull-up bar and 5-100 lb dumbbells. DH and I both find fitness very important but the gym is way to inconvenient with 2 littles and him working shift work.

Wow. That's your home gym? Pretty nice set up!

Today I swam 1 mile, but I am taking tomorrow "off" and am going to a 90 min. prenatal yoga class instead of an aerobic workout. I am excited about the yoga class! Wed. should be another swim day, I think.

Oh yeah: DH and I rode our bikes to my prenatal appt. today, but since the birth center is only like 1 mile from my house, it was nothing impressive; just nice to get outside (the weather was 1/2 way decent today)

Working out is a total chore for me without music!

Have fun at your yoga class. I would be excited, too!

Today, I did a leg workout with weights, some body weight exercises and stretching.

I much prefer to workout with music, and it IS a chore without. Unfortunately, my boy ruined BOTH our ipods, and I don't have any music on my phone. Need to set up pandora on there, I think.

You gals are so inspiring. I hardly feel like I'm working out on my pool days, but every little bit of activity counts.

Had another good workout last night. I went right after work and DH already had DS fed when I got home! Although he was also "playing golf" on the front lawn in his undies. Don't ask.

But I did get a good work out in and it's rainy out today. If DH's softball game is cancelled I think I'll go again tonight!

Great job ladies!!! I am going to get off my fat ars tonight and get something in. I need it- totally draining day at work today!!

Well DH's softball game did end up getting cancelled for rain, even though it ended up being nice out in the evening. So yay for me I got to work out again last night. I didn't do a whole lot. I got in 30 mins on the eliptical and then just did one leg and one arm strength exercize each.

Anybody else here use the eliptical? I find I generally do much better on it with my knees then on the treadmill. Also espcially while pregnant I don't like too much bouncing around which I feel more of on the treadmill. It make me feel like I constantly have to pee too. But, now I'm finding problem with the eliptical...my feet. Since my feet are not actually being picked up and are staying in the same spot with lots of blood flow, they are starting to hurt midway through my workouts. It helps a little if i try to pick up my foot while I'm "running" but not much and then I just end up focusing on how painful my feet feel. Does this happen to anyone else or am I just weird? Any sugguestions? Maybe I should switch to the bike instead? Do you think that's as good of a workout?

Also, I bought a Copy of the Zen Mama workout video on Amazon yesterday! Hopefully it doesn't take too long to ship!

Good luck on your workouts mamas!

I like both the elliptical and the "air walker" machines; if I stay on for more than 30 minutes, yes, my feet do get numb. So now I like to do 30 min. of one of those, followed by 15 min. fast walking on the treadmill (if it's a good day!)

Today was a "focus swim." Tomorrow I'll hit the cardio room at the gym. Yesterday I did that prenatal yoga class, which was good for flexibility and breathing, and a spiritual experience, but not for strength training, which is one thing I love about yoga...so I think I"ll go back next week, but am going to start doing some yoga at home on my own to supplement.

I just finished Jillian's Yoga Meltdown and holy crap, it kicked my butt! I think I need to put that DVD away until after the baby.

Nice work. I just ordered the Zen Mama prenatal yoga workout on Amazon. I can't wait for it to get here. But, I'm hoping it's challenging enough that I feel like I'm getting some kind of benefit from it. I have a feeling since it's prenatal they will take it somewhat easy on you. But hopefully it's got some options so that it will be able to be challenging now and not crazy hard once I start getting really big.
