Question about when to take draws for betas

Hi mamas,

My OB ordered a a quan. HCG from a lab near my house. I can go tomorrow, but wouldn't get another draw until Monday. Is that ok or would that mess with the doubling time? Should I wait until Monday to get the first draw?

I would definitely go tomorrow. The doubling time can be calculated just fine 3 days apart, as opposed to 2.
Plus, if you did the 1st draw on Monday, you'd be waiting a lot longer to get your results.

I worried about time of day vs. # of days apart. Most websites, like betabase have doubling time calculator, not all of them will calculate the doubling time of 3d 6hrs, but just 3d.... I did my first one on 10dpo, 2nd one at 14dpo, 3rd at 21dpo. Tried to get each draw around noon, first one was 4pm so it was a pain to find a website at first that let me put in the time.

I seem to remember that betabase.info does use time info not just day info.

I am pretty sure it did too, it was all the other doubling time websites that didn't, it was frustrating until I found betabase.

This one allows you to put decimals of a day.

So a first hcg at noon, next at 6pm 2 days later, 2.25 hours

I like this calculator. It graphs your results in context with the average for your dpos. Only downside is that you can't use it before 12dpo or after 23dpo. Otherwise it's really great!http://www.babymed.com/hcg-calculator

No reason not to do it tomorrow, they can still figure out if your numbers are rising appropriately. I had 4 hcg draws and one was 3 days instead of two and it wasn't an issue.
