Does anyone else have a virtual resume/portfolio?

For the past year I have maintained a virtual resume and portfolio. It's set up on Wordpress and contains my resume, a longish introduction to potential employers, and lots of copies of my work. It also includes photos of myself and my work. I set it up as a means for employers to get to know me prior to or after the interview. The job market is so competitive that I'm using every means possible to give myself an edge.

Does anyone have anything similar? If you do, what kinds of materials do you include? Does anyone have a video resume available to employers? I'm considering either uploading a video to introducing myself or uploading a video that shows me at work (in my field, this is might actually be helpful).

Also, if you are responsible for hiring people, is a virtual resume something that you would look at? From what I gather on my page hits, about half of potential employers have looked at it and I am currently considering three job offers. I haven't had the nerve to ask whether any of these offers were influenced by my virtual resume.

I think it would depend a lot on what field you are in. If it's something where a portfolio is important it probably helps.

I guess I have a virtual resume on LinkedIn, I seem to get a fair number of hits on it (even though I'm not currently looking). I work in the biotech industry.
