Can these pockets be salvaged?

Back in 2006 I bought some of the newest, most innovative pocket diapers on the market - Happy Heinys and BG 1.0s.

The HH solids are still going strong. The prints though, I think, are trashed. They're the old cotton laminates, and there are pinprick holes all along the seams. I'm still using them for around the house because I absolutely adore the prints (Asian Dragons and Rainbow Dinossaurs!) but they're getting worse with each wash.

The BG 1.0s are beginning to leak through the outer layer. I knew this would happen - I never did wash them on warm - always hot, and before I learned about line drying (yeah, yeah, I know...) they were in the dryer. I've been able to trust them for short periods, but they're getting worse too.

I've already tossed one HH print - but I HATE throwing reusable diapers in the garbage!! Money investment aside, it's just plain wrong. Anyone know of any way to salvage either of these types of diaper?

here is a complicated way - pul from joanne fabric + iron on fusible applique material - to make a new pul sandwhich.

Probably not what you're looking for, but I bet the insides would be good cleaning rags if you wanted to cut them up...

We don't have Joanne's here, but I might be able to find something similar.

Worst comes to worst though, lunita1, you made me think - I could at least cut the microfleece and microsuede to use as liners in my prefolds - I did need some more anyway... still a shame but at least some would live on...

You could always treat them like a pocket fitted - put a cover over them.

Have you tried putting them through a couple of hot dryer cycles? I've read about how sometimes it helps re-seal the PUL and it seems like you don't really have much to lose at this point...
